We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join our dynamic team working on cutting-edge deep learning and computer vision projects. This is a remote position, with our head office located in Toronto, Canada.
About the Role
As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy deep learning and computer vision pipelines for production-grade AI systems. You will work across model development, data processing, experimentation, deployment, and optimization, helping bring advanced AI capabilities into practical industry applications.
The ideal candidate has a strong record of completing deep learning projects, hands-on experience with computer vision pipelines, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize deep learning and computer vision pipelines for real-world applications.
- Develop and improve models for tasks such as image classification, object detection, segmentation, visual search, multimodal understanding, and related computer vision use cases.
- Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy deep learning models using modern machine learning frameworks.
- Build scalable data preprocessing, model training, validation, testing, and inference workflows.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to support scalable AI systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, research, and domain experts to deliver practical AI-powered solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD practices for machine learning and software development workflows.
- Support model deployment, monitoring, debugging, and performance improvement in production environments.
- Evaluate new tools, architectures, and techniques in computer vision, deep learning, multimodal AI, and MLOps.
- Take ownership of projects from experimentation through production deployment.
Geological & Technical Delivery
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience building deep learning and computer vision pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Proven record of completed projects in deep learning domains, such as computer vision, NLP, multimodal AI, or related areas.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience writing clean, maintainable, production-quality code.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and modern software engineering workflows.
- Experience with model evaluation, experimentation, data pipelines, and production deployment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work effectively in a remote startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying Vision-Language Models.
- Experience with MLOps or LLMOps practices and tools.
- Experience with model serving and inference engines such as vLLM, SGLang, NVIDIA Triton Inference Server, or similar.
- Familiarity with model serving, monitoring, versioning, and experiment tracking tools.
- Experience with distributed training, large-scale datasets, or inference optimization.
- Interest in applying AI to mining, geology, geospatial data, natural resources, or other industrial domains.
